Backlight tube for all models of white, dual USB 12" iBook G3s. This delicate tube illuminates, and is an integral part of the LCD panel. It is powered by the inverter board. A failed backlight tube will result in a very dark image on the screen but be aware that this same symptom can be cause by a faulty inverter board, faulty inverter cable or a faulty logic board (which controls the inverter board).

Changing a backlight tube requires the LCD panel to be partially taken apart and should not be undertaken unless you know what you are doing since it is very easy to damage the LCD.
