This drive offers full 8X recording speeds on DVD±R Discs and the ability to record on DVD+R Double Layer and DVD-RAM formats, including DVD±RW and CD-R/RW. This drive is slimmer than the normal slimline opticals used in the iBook and powerBook range and is only suitable for the 13" MacBook and 15" MacBook Pro.
It is fully interchangeable with the Panasonic UJ-857 and CW-8221 combo drive.
