The iMac G4 17” mid 2002 model was released on July 17”, 2002 and was Apple’s first-generation iMac G4 17”. This generation of iMac G4 17” featured an 800Mhz single core PowerPC 7450 G4 processor, NVIDIA GeForce4 MX graphics chip with 32MB of DDR memory and a 17-inch LCD panel with a native resolution of 1,440x900. Due to the design of the display the iMac G4 17” had a horizonal viewing angle of 120 degrees and a vertical viewing angle of 90 degrees. This model shipped as standard with an 80GB 5,400rpm ATA hard drive and a 2x SuperDrive. This model could be configured with up to 1GB of PC-133 SDRAM and optional AirPort functions.
The iMac G4 17” featured 3 USB 1.0 ports, 2 FireWire 400 ports, Mini-VGA port for external monitor support, 56k v.90 modem port, 10/100Base-T ethernet port, microphone, 3.5mm analog output jack and 2.5mm Apple Pro Speaker minijack port.
This generation originally shipped with Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.1.5 (Puma) with later models shipping with 10.2 (Jaguar) and could run up to Mac OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger).
