The Apple Watch SE was originally released in 2020 as a mid tier option whilst being sold along side the Series 3 and Series 6. The Apple Watch SE featured a dual core Apple S5 SiP with an Apple W3 chip, 32GB of internal flash storage and 1GB of DRAM. The Apple Watch SE was available in 40mm or 44mm sizes both of which featured Retina OLED displays (324x390 40mm, 368x448 44mm) The Apple Watch SE had support for Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n at 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, a built in Apple eSim with support for LTE networks (Cellular only) a single microphone, a single speaker, a magnetic charging port for wireless charging and a built-in 296mAh rechargeable lithium polymer battery. It was also water resistant up to 50 meters.
The Apple Watch SE featured both an optical and electrical heart sensor built into the Digital Crown on the underside of the device, along with a barometric altimeter and magnetometer. The watch strap was also easily removable so that straps could be swapped in and out.
The Apple Watch SE was available in a variety of finishes across two models. Apple Watch and Apple Watch Nike+.
