The iPad Pro 12.9” 5th generation was originally released in 2021 as a replacement or iPad Pro 12.9” 4th generation. The iPad Pro 12.9” 5th generation was the first to featured Apples 5nm M1 SoC comprised of four 3.2GHz high-performance cores and four 2.1GHz high-efficiency cores equipped with 320KB of L1 cache (192KB instruction + 128KB data), 12MB of L2 cache, shared between the 4 high-performance cores and 192KB of L1 cache (128KB instruction + 64KB data), 4MB of L2 cache shared between the 4 high-efficiency cores, 16-core Neural Engine, 8GB of unified memory (128GB, 256GB and 512GB configurations) or 16GB of unified memory (1TB and 2TB configurations) and an eight-core Apple GPU. The iPad Pro 12.9” 5th generation could be configured with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB or 2TB of flash storage, Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and Cellular connectivity and was available in Space Gray and Silver finishes.
The iPad Pro 12.9” 5th generation featured a fully laminated 12.9” 1,600 nits peak brightness mini-LED-backlit Multi-Touch 2,7324x2,048 (264 ppi) Liquid Retina XDR widescreen True Tone display with a 2D backlight with 2,596 full-array local dimming zones, support for the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, Face ID enabled by the TrueDepth camera, support for Wi-Fi 802.11a/x Wi-Fi 6 simultaneous dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz) networks, Bluetooth 5.0 and 5G networks (region dependant), five studio microphones, quad stereo speakers, smart connector and Thunderbolt/USB 4 connector. The iPad Pro 12.9” 5th generation has three cameras a front 12-mega-pixel Ultra Wide TrueDepth camera with 122° field of view and is capable of 1080p HD video recording at 25fps, 30fps or 60fps, one rear 12-megapixel wide camera with support for 4K video recording at 24fps, 30fps or 60fps, 1080p HD at 30fps or 60fps, 720p HD at 30fps and slo-mo video support 1080p at 120fps or 240fps and one 10-megapixel ultra wide camera with 125° field of view; support for 4K video recording at 60fps and slo-mo video support at 1080p at 240fps. The iPad Pro 12.9” 5th generation has a built-in 40.88Wh rechargeable lithium-polymer battery capable of up to 10 hours of battery life.
