The Mac Studio 2022 ships with the option of Apple M1 Max or M1 Ultra. The M1 Max consists of eight 3.23GHz high performance cores (Firestorm) and two 2.06GHz high efficiency cores (Icestorm) for a total of ten CPU cores, A 24-core Apple GPU with 384 execution units and 3,072 arithmetic logic units or a 32-core Apple GPU with 512 execution units and 4,096 arithmetic logic units, a 16-core Neural Engine, up to 64GB of 512-bit quad-channel LPDDR5-6400 unified memory accessible by the entire SoC and up to 8TB of storage.
The M1 Ultra consists of sixteen 3.23GHz high performance cores (Firestorm) and four 2.06GHz high efficiency cores (Icestorm) for a total of twenty CPU cores, a 48-core Apple GPU with 768 execution units and 6,144 arithmetic logic units or a 64-core Apple GPU with 1,024 execution units and 8,192 arithmetic logic units, a 32-core Neural Engine up to 128GB of 1024-bit quad octa-channel LPDDR5-6400 unified memory accessible by the entire SoC and up to 8TB of storage.
Both the M1 Max and M1 Ultra feature four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C 4.0) ports, two USB-A 3.0 ports, one HDMI port 2.0, one 10Gb ethernet port and one 3.5mm headphone jack with support for High-impedance headphones on the rear of the device. On the front the M1 Max feature's two USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gb/s) ports and one SDXC card slot, whereas the M1 Ultra upgrades the front USB-C ports to Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C 4.0) ports. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The Mac Studio can support up to four displays up to 6016×3384 at 60Hz via 4 Thunderbolt and one display up to 3840×2160 at 60Hz via HDMI; 5 displays total.
