The iPod nano 7th generation was originally released in September 2012 and was discontinued in July 2017. The iPod nano 7th generation the last model with the iPod nano family to be released. The iPod 7th generation featured a Samsung ARM-based SoC with 16GB of embedded flash storage. The iPod nano 7th generation originally was available in Blue, Green, Pink, Purple, (PRODUCT) Red, Slate and Silver finishes before Apple would refresh the iPod 7th generation in 2015. The 2015 refresh saw the iPod nano 7th generation lose some previous colour finishes with the remaining colours being refreshed to more vibrant colour variants, there were no hardware upgrades to the refreshed models it was solely a colour refresh. The mid 2015 iPod nano 7th generation was available in Blue, Gold, Pink, (PRODUCT) Red, Silver and Space Grey finishes. Once again Apple would redesign the iPod nano for the 7th and final generation. It was known as the “thinnest iPod nano yet” being 38 percent thinner than the iPod nano 6th generation. The iPod nano 7th generation weighted only 31g and was 76.5mm in height, 39.6mm in width and 5,4mm in depth. The iPod nano 7th generation saw the return of video playback and was the first and only iPod nano to ship with Bluetooth connectivity and much like previous generations had a built in accelerometer.
The iPod nano 7th generation featured a 2.5-inch (diagonal) 240x432 pixels (202 ppi) widescreen Multi-Touch display, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, lightning connector and support for FM radio with “live pause” and Nike+iPod. The iPod 7th generation was powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery, capable of up to 30 hours of music playback and up to 3.5 hours of video playback.
