The Apple Watch Series 6 was originally released in 2020 as a replacement for the Series 6 whilst being sold along side the Series 3 and SE. The Apple Watch Series 6 featured a dual core Apple S6 SiP with an Apple W3 and Apple U1 chip with 32GB of internal flash storage and 1GB of DRAM. The Apple Watch Series 6 was available in 40mm or 44mm sizes both of which featured Always-on Retina OLED displays (324x390 40mm, 368x448 44mm) The Apple Watch Series 6 had support for Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n at 2.4GHz and 5GHz, Bluetooth 5.0, a built in Apple eSim with support for LTE networks (Cellular only) a single microphone, a single speaker, a magnetic charging port for wireless charging and a built-in 265.9mAh (40mm), 303.8mAh (44mm) rechargeable lithium polymer battery. It was also water resistant up to 50 meters.

The Apple Watch Series 6 featured both an optical and electrical heart sensor along with a blood oxygen sensor built into the Digital Crown on the underside of the device, along with a barometric altimeter and magnetometer. The watch strap was also easily removable so that straps could be swapped in and out.

The Apple Watch Series 6 was available in a variety of finishes across four models. Apple Watch, Apple Watch Nike+, Apple Watch Hermès and Apple Watch Edition.
