The MacBook Air (M1, 2020) shipped with Apple's first generation M1 SoC, which consists of four 3.2GHz high-performance cores (Firestorm) and four 2.06GHz high-efficiency cores (Icestorm) for a total of eight CPU cores, a 7-core 1.30GHz Apple GPU with 112 execution units and 896 arithmetic logic units, or an 8-core 1.30GHz Apple GPU with 128 execution units and 1,024 arithmetic logic units, a 16-core Neural engine, up to 16GB of Dual Channel LPDDR4X-4266 unified memory accessible by the entire SoC, and up to 2TB of storage. The MacBook Air 13-inch was available in three different colours: Gold, Silver, and Space Grey.
The MacBook Air has a 13.3-inch LED backlight, 2560x1600 native resolution at 227 pixels per inch, and 400nit peak brightness Liquid Retina display supporting millions of colours and True Tone technology, a two-speaker sound system with support for Dolby Atmos, a 720p FaceTime HD camera, a three-microphone array, two Thunderbolt 3 (USB 4.0) ports supporting charging and DisplayPort with transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) Bluetooth 5.0, a backlit Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, and a 49.9Wh lithium-ion polymer battery capable of up to 15 hours of battery life. The M1 SoC simultaneously supports the full native resolution on the build-in display and one external display via Thunderbolt up to 6016x3384 at 60Hz.
