This is the VESA backing plate/hinge for the iMac 21.5" late 2015 and mid 2017 Non-Retina and Retina 4K models. This part is fitted in place of the internal hinge mechanism inside of the machine in order to mount the tongue and mounting bracket to the housing.
To VESA mount any of the slimline iMacs you will need the following parts:
•VESA Backing Plate/Hinge (For relevant year)
•VESA Tongue (For relevant year)
•VESA Mounting Bracket
