This is the internal battery for the MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2009 and Mid 2010 models, but this battery was originally shipped in the mid 2009 model, with the lower 73Wh capacity.
Because of the weakness in the plastic frame around the battery screw mounts, it is common for these mounts to become damaged. This is not in every case, but it does not affect the function of the battery. This fault is not taken into account when grading this particular battery. Battery Specs:
•10.95Vdc
•73Whr
•6,667mAh
The theoretical capacity of this battery when new was 6,667mAh. This Grade-1 battery is holding between 90-100% of its original capacity, meaning this Grade-1 unit will have a full charge capacity of at least 6,000mAh.
Please note:
Apple introduced an OS function that checks the status of the battery, so some of these graded batteries will have a status saying 'Service Battery' or 'Replace Soon'. This has no connection to the overall charge capacity of the battery and how long it lasts however. All these batteries have been fully tested and graded according to their full charge capacity and cycle count and are graded using the details stated above, so the message has no relevance to these batteries and can be ignored.(Unfortunately there is no way of overriding this, but resetting the SMC can sometimes remedy this fault)
