Inverter and wireless cable for the dual layer superdrive 1.67GHz (A1138 - 1440x960 screen) model of the 15" Aluminium PowerBook G4 only. This cable will not work with the single layer superdrive version ( A1106 - 1280x854 screen) of the 1.67GHz PowerBook. The inverter cable powers the backlight inverter board. The wireless connects the airport/bluetooth combo card to the antenna within the lid. Both cables pass through the hinge.
If the backlight on your PowerBook is not illuminating but you can see a faint dark image then the inverter cable is a likely culprit. These symptoms can also be caused by a failed backlight tube, a failed inverter board or a faulty logic board.
