Please note: Because of the scarcity of USB 3 flash drives in 8GB capacities, we have had to resort to ordering in 16GB sticks. Each OS only requires 8GB storage, so this has been partitioned down to 2x 8GB partitions. One is left blank, and one has the installer packet installed.
This is a 16GB USB install stick formatted as OS X Extended Journaled with a fresh install copy of 10.8.4.
This USB stick can be used to install a fresh OS, restore a corrupt OS, or complete disk repairs and clean ups.
Please note: This is compatible with all machines from Late 2008 up to Mid 2012, with a few exceptions (some Late 2012, Early 2012 and Late 2013 machines were shipped with 10.9, which will not work with this install, but machines shipped with anything earlier than 10.8.4 will work fine). Some machines may be part of an earlier range, but are refurbished by Apple at a later date, so have different OS requirements and compatibility. Please contact us with your machine details if you'd like to confirm compatibility of the OS.

Apple have details on their website on how to create these USB sticks if you already own the operating system, we are simply providing the service to make it straight forward for all users.
Reformatting or erasing this stick will allow it to operate as a normal external USB stick. But the OS install/recovery tool would no longer be serviceable. Any warranty provided on this product is for the USB stick and potential corruption of the install, but does not cover the erasing or reformatting of the stick.
The product is brand new, but the packaging has been opened in order to complete the install process.
The 12 month warranty covers the USB stick itself and not the OS or contents of the drive.
